Auditions for COD Fall College Theatre Aug. 28 and 29
General auditions for College of DuPage College Theatre's fall productions of "Carmilla" and "The Man Who Came to Dinner" will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, and from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, in the Studio Theater of the McAninch Arts Center, on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
J. Sheridan Le Fanu's "Carmilla" will be staged Oct. 8 to 25. Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's "The Man Who Came to Dinner" will be staged Nov. 12 to 22. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.
"Carmilla," adapted by Aly Rene Amide and directed by COD Theater Professor Amelia Barrett, centers on the title character, a mysterious and enigmatic house guest whose presence coincides with several unexplained murders.
Set at Christmastime in 1939, "The Man Who Came to Dinner" finds the Stanley family hosting famous critic Sheridan "Sherry" Whiteside. After slipping on the ice and breaking his hip, Sherry's lengthy recuperation leads to hilarious tangled plots as he imposes his influence on each occupant of the home.
Auditions for both productions include cold readings with optional monologues. No experience is necessary.
