COD's Writers Read Series Hosts Award-Winning Author Bill Hillmann June 24

Author Bill Hillmann will read a selection of his works at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, in the Student Resource Center, Room 1200, at the College of DuPage Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., as part of the College's Writers Read Series.

This event is free and open to the public.

Hillmann famously survived a near fatal goring in Pamplona in 2014 at the Running with the Bulls, which he documented in his recently-released memoir, "Mozos: A Decade Running with the Bulls of Spain." He is the award-winning author of "The Old Neighborhood" and his writing has appeared in the Toronto Star, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and on NPR. Hillmann has also been a guest on CNN International, NBC Today and CBS This Morning.

The June 24 event will include a reading, a question and answer session, and a book signing by the author.

For nearly 17 years, the Writers Read series has brought dozens of nationally acclaimed writers to College of DuPage, including Stuart Dybek, Luis Urrea, Scott Russell Sanders, Bich Minh Nguyen and Joy Harjo. Many College of DuPage faculty members teach the work of these visiting writers, often inspiring a deeper appreciation of the authors, their process and resulting work.
