CLC horticulture program to hold annual plant sale
The Horticulture department at the College of Lake County will hold its annual plant sale from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, May 8, in the horticulture greenhouses (Building H, near the Brae Loch Road entrance to the Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St.).
Proceeds help support CLC horticulture student scholarships and program enhancements.
The plants were grown from seed or plug by CLC students and staff. Sowing seeds and sale preparation began last fall. Purchasers may choose from herbs, annuals, perennials and hanging baskets of flowers or strawberries and vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, tomatoes and squash. A variety of native perennials are also available.
A complete list of the plants on sale is available on the College of Lake County Horticulture Department Facebook page. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card.
