CLC's 34th 'Recent Works' exhibit opens Oct. 3

An opening reception for the College of Lake County's 34th Annual Recent Works exhibit will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 at the Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art at CLC. The Recent Works exhibit will be on view in the gallery through Nov. 9.

At the reception, more than $1,000 in cash prizes and purchase awards will be announced. The reception includes music by the Mojo Daddies acoustic duo and refreshments. The public is invited to attend.

Selected from 150 entries, the artwork in the exhibit includes 55 pieces in various media, created by 40 artists who live or work in Lake County. The exhibit's jurors are artists Doug Jeppesen, ceramics instructor, Waubonsee Community College, and Nina Weiss, adjunct instructor, Columbia College.

The winners' names will be made public after Oct. 3. Many of the artworks are for sale.

The Wright Gallery of Art's 2014-15 exhibit calendar includes the following shows. Opening receptions are held on Fridays from 7-9 p.m. on the opening date.
