Brother Sun to perform at DuPage UU Church Jan. 4

The musical group Brother Sun will perform at DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church, 1828 Old Naperville Rd., Naperville, on Saturday January 4th at 7 p.m.

The popular three-man band--Greg Greenway, Joe Jencks, and Pat Wictor--blends blues, jazz, pop, rock, Americana and folk into a unique sound.

The members of Brother Sun say that the band does not exist within any of them, but in the spaces between them. “The rich harmonies and moving lyrics of a Brother Sun performance welcome and challenge, entertain and engage,” says Kat Gelder, vice president for spirituality at DuPage UU Church.

There will be a soup benefit dinner prior to the concert, at 5:30pm. Ceramic bowls have been donated by The Village Potters in LaGrange Park, IL. For $10, attendees will receive a bowl that they will fill with their choice of soup. After dinner, they can keep the bowl. All of the proceeds go to the local PADS organization and the Bridge Communities family sponsored by DuPage UU Church.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online through Brown Paper Tickets (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/523803), or reserved (will-call) by emailing oncerts@dupageuuchurch.org.

In June, DuPage UU Church received the Earth Flag for environmental sustainability from DuPage County and SCARCE (School & Community Assistance with Recycling and Composting Education) and opened a 9000-square-foot eco-friendly addition that includes a new sanctuary with many green architectural and energy-saving features.

DuPage UU Church is a growing congregation of more than 300 members who honor many belief systems and are united by shared values of justice, freedom of thought, and peace between all. For more information, please visit www.DuPageUUChurch.com
