Children's Theatre of Elgin wraps up its 25th anniversary season with the popular musical "Seussical Jr."

See colorful, fun-filled Dr. Seuss stories brought to life onstage. Come along with The Grinch, Yertle The Turtle, The Cat In The Hat, and many more interesting characters as they capture your attention, spark your imagination, and take you on a roller-coaster ride.

The production is directed by Jen Prise, with vocal direction by Bre Koll, and choreography by CTE graduate Sarah Robertson.

"It is a very fun show," said producer Leslie Gorkowski, "We can't wait to share it with you."

The Cat In The Hat will tell the story of Horton the Elephant, who rescues the Whos from Whoville. See Jojo, the smallest Who of all, who is scolded for thinking incredible "thinks," and take a nonstop journey with Horton as he faces naysayers, big obstacles, kidnapping and other dangers while taking the responsibility of watching the egg of Lazy Mayzie.

The citizens of the Jungle of Nool learn about bullying, standing up for what you believe in, loyalty, friendship, and most importantly, that "a person's a person, no matter how small."

The characters will travel through the Jungle of Nool, the Circus of McGurkus and then transport themselves to the invisible world of the Whos.

This cast of 80 children, ages 7-15, will be performing this outrageous, magical musical April 11-14 at the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way, Elgin. Information and online reservations are available at CTEelgin.com. A special noon school show has been added for Thursday, April 11. All other school performances are sold out.
