Addison Trail wins on bases-loaded walk

Addison Trail 6, Maine West 5:A bases-loaded walk drawn by Giancarlo Loiotile in the bottom of the seventh gave the Blazers (1-3) their first win of the season. Joe Kurucar and Zack Dowz each had 2 hits for Addison Trail. Matt Piotrowski, pitching in relief of starter Frank Amato, picked up the win.Benet 17, WW South 7:Pat McInerney went 3-for-5 with a double, homer and 3 RBI as the Redwings rolled to victory after a 7-run first inning. Chris Whelan, Joe Giuffre, Jason Blohm and Connor Hickey had 2 hits apiece. Eric Giltz and Justin Kelly had 3 hits for WW South. Lake Park 5, Glenbard East 4:Eric Vatch tripled and scored on Dom Romito#146;s groundout in the top of the sixth to give the Lancers (3-0) their margin of victory over the Rams (2-7). Anthony Gallina drove in 2 runs for Lake Park while Rhett Rapshus won in relief of Vatch. Nick Vichio homered for Glenbard East. Naperville North 8, Oswego East 3:The Huskies (2-1) opened the game with 5 runs in the first inning to set the tone in their road victory. John Sagen and Alex Garon had 2 hits apiece and Pat Mollo homered. Winning pitcher Matt Karl lasted into the seventh inning.Glenbard South 15, Lisle 3:Will Cornwell#146;s monster game for the Raiders (1-1) in their five-inning win included 8 RBI on 4-for-4 hitting with 2 doubles and a home run. Carl Sanders, who also homered, and Ethan Gasbarro had 3 hits and scored a combined 7 runs. Raiders starter Will Anderson allowed no earned runs in 5 innings. Adam Grego went 2-for-3 for Lisle (2-2).Naperville Central 8, Hoffman Estates 0:The Redhawks (3-1) followed a 2-run first inning with a 6-run fourth while cruising to victory. Jeff Schank allowed 4 hits and struck out five over 5 innings to win the game. Nicky Lopez went 3-for-3 and Blake Butler had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Oak Park 8, Glenbard West 4:Grant Greeno went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI but the Hilltoppers (0-4, 0-3) lost their third straight game to defending Class 4A champion Oak Park.Downers North 5, York 2:The Trojans (4-0, 3-0) stayed unbeaten by capping the three-game West Suburban Silver sweep of York (2-3, 0-3). Lucas Fisher scattered 6 hits over 7 innings to earn the win while Conner Kopach and James Sheldon each had 2 hits. Pete Doughty went 3-for-4 for the Dukes.Downers South 13, Leyden 5:Danny Mayer helped the Mustangs (5-2, 3-0) sweep Leyden in their West Suburban Gold series by going 3-for-4 with a double, triple, 4 runs scored and 2 RBI. Zach Taylor with 2-for-5 with 2 RBI. Ryan Taylor notched the win in relief.
