Conant, Palatine win in MSL West

Conant senior Kyle Bradberry had 3 goals and Jon Burke had 2 as the visiting Cougars produced a 12-5 victory at Barrington in Mid-Suburban West boys water polo Tuesday.

The Cougars got single goals from Devin Schmitz, Kazuki Morita, Jake Nelson, Connor Schmitz, Alex Young and Brennen Nagorzanski, and goalie Aly Ahmed made 10 saves.

Chase Lesniak led the way for Barrington with 3 goals.

Palatine 9, Fremd 5: Christian Kalfas and Krystian Kalev had 3 goals apiece and Palatine goalkeeper Peter Blackham made 23 stops as the host Pirates picked up a victory over the defending conference champs in an MSL West opener.

JP French had 2 goals for the Vikings, who went scoreless in the first half.

• In other games Tuesday, Buffalo Grove edged Elk Grove 6-5, Schaumburg topped Hoffman Estates 11-4 and Glenbrook South beat Maine West 14-3.
