The parking lot at Elgin Community College needs to be improved. Students speed through it recklessly, traffic gets backed up because there are only a few exits, and students are frequently late to class because parking spots are so far away. Elgin Community College needs to replace its current lots with multiple-story parking garages to reduce the chance of accidents and tardiness to class. The risk of people getting in accidents is too high to not consider the possibility.
If money were to be needed to build the garage, fundraisers could be held by students passionate about the issue. If the garage is built, students will have less tardiness to class, which in turn will boost grades. With speed bumps and one-way streets in the parking garage, there will be less of a risk of students getting into accidents.
