Let your voice be heard in District 300 survey

Community Unit District 300 is inviting all stakeholders to participate in a strategic planning survey the district will use to develop a shared vision for the local school district.

Superintendent Michael Bregy and the school board launched a new strategic planning process at the beginning of the school year.

The anonymous survey will be administered by ECRA, an independent educational research firm. The survey will ask for your perceptions on a number of issues related to the district.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 9, parents will receive a survey via email or mail. Parents will have until Monday, Jan. 23 to complete the survey.

A staff survey will also be sent out via email and staff will have until Monday, Jan. 23 to submit their answers.

Students in eighth and 12tgh grades will have the opportunity to complete the survey in class beginning Monday, Jan. 9.

Community members who are not current parents or staff of the district are invited to follow a link to the community survey, which can be found at ecrasurvey.com/d300community. Staff, parents, students and other stakeholders should not use the community link.

U-46 scholars: A total of 230 students from the five Elgin Area District U-46 high school have been named Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. The winners from Bartlett, Elgin, Larkin, South Elgin and Streamwood high schools rank among the top 10 percent of high school seniors based on ACT, SAT or Prairie State Achievement Exam scores, as well as class rank at the end of their junior year.Check the district's website, u-46.org, for a link to the list of students who have been named.Judges needed: Judges are needed for the 55th Annual District 300 Robert E. Hart Science Fair, on Thursday, Feb. 23, at Hampshire High School, 1600 Big Timber Road. The works of high school and middle school students will be represented at the fair. Judges do not need to be science experts, but should have an interest in talking with students about their projects and judging their efforts. The deadline to register as a judge is Thursday, Feb 2.
