Kenny Lowden’s walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh scored Dillon Gardner to lift South Elgin to a 4-3 victory and a 3-game series sweep of Waubonsie Valley in an Upstate Eight Conference game Tuesday.

South Elgin (11-3-1, 6-3-1) won its fifth straight behind the complete-game effort of Chris Bingham (1-0), who allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits, struck out 1 and walked none. Andrew Weedman homered and drove in 2 runs and John Menken, Nate Halas and Nate Garis each had a hit for the Storm.

Geneva 16, Larkin 14: The Royals dropped a slugfest after taking a 10-4 lead through three innings in Upstate Eight Conference play in Elgin. Geneva hit 5 home runs, including a 3-run shot in the seventh inning by sophomore Mitch Endriakitis that snapped a 13-13 tie. Larkin scored a run in the seventh and had the tying runs on base, but the Vikings struck out a batter and picked off the Larkin runner at first base for a game-ending double play.

Miguel Villafane hit 2 doubles and a grand slam to finish with 5 RBI, and Trevor Whitehead went 4-for-5 with a triple, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Drew Shore (1-3) took the loss in relief for Larkin (8-9, 3-7).

Dundee-Crown 20, Prairie Ridge 11: The visiting Wolves scored 9 runs in the second inning to take a 9-2 lead, but the Chargers responded with their own 9-run second inning to regain the lead for good. Dylan Kissack went 5-for-5 with a double, home run and 5 RBI, Steve Schwartz was 2-for-2 with a homer and 5 RBI, Nick Spagnola finished 3-for-5 with a home run and 2 RBI and Scott Nowicke (3 RBI) doubled and hit his sixth home run of the season. Erik Brewer (2-2) got the win after allowing 11 runs (1 earned) on 12 hits in 4 innings. Jordan Kalous earned the save by striking out 4 Wolves in 2 scoreless innings for Dundee-Crown (11-9, 8-4).

Westminster Christian 5, Rockford Christian Life 3: Andrew Mason doubled and drove in 2 runs and Frank Oliver doubled twice in a Northeast Athletic Conference win for the Warriors that was shortened to five innings by weather. Zack Edwards struck out 4 and allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits in 3 innings for Westminster Christian (12-5, 4-0).
