Friday's Fox Valley roundup

Jessica Van Dorin just keeps lighting it up for the Hampshire girls basketball team.

Van Dorin canned six more 3-pointers Friday night as the Whip-Purs returned from a long layoff with a 67-28 Big Northern East win over North Boone. Van Dorin has now hit 26 3-pointers in Hampshire's last 6 games and has an even 50 for the season.

Her 18 points led the Whips (14-0, 2-0) in the win. Karla Veitinghoff added 14 points, Cassie Dumoulin 11, Alex Dumoulin 10 and Chrissy Heine 9 for Hampshire.

Huntley 50, McHenry 45: The Red Raiders (8-8, 2-2) battled back from a 25-21 halftime deficit and used a balanced offensive attack to earn a victory in this Fox Valley (Valley) win. Amanda Wisniewski recorded double-digits for the Red Raiders with 10 points while adding 6 rebounds. Carly Goede chipped in 9 points and added 3 assissts.

Burlington Central 58, Harvard 28: The Rockets (11-5) started off strong and never looked back as they cruised to an easy victory in this Big Northern East game. Taylor Colby (14 points) and Ali Settanni (12 points) both turned in double-digit performances to lead the Rockets.

Crystal Lake South 50, Dundee-Crown 28: The Gators (11-8, 3-2) used a 17-2 thrid quarter margin to pull the game out of reach as they defeated the Chargers (2-15, 0-4) in Fox Valley (Valley) action. Michelle Gaede and Katie Burton paced the Gators with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Ali Sanders led the Chargers with 8 points.

Waubonsie Valley 75, Elgin 38: The Maroons (1-15, 1-3) struggled to get the offense going as they were never able to come back from a 22-5 deficit after one quarter of play en route to an Upstate Eight Conference loss. Briana Hamilton and Brandi Hernandez were the only two Maroons to reach double-figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Lake Park 69, Larkin 18: Abigail Alvarez scored a team-high 12 points to lead the Royals (1-13, 0-4) in this Upstate Eight Conference loss at home to the Lancers.
