Wheaton Toms Price store reveals renovation plans

"It's time for a facelift," said Scott Price, owner of Toms Price the Wheaton store that has been a fixture on Front Street in the suburb since 1955. "It has been nearly 20 years since our last remodel and the timing is right."

Toms Price is reducing the 62,000 square foot store area to 42,000 square feet due to the recent College Church purchase of the space in a sale/leaseback arrangement made earlier this year. While store size will be condensed, Price said that the transformation will create an easier footprint to shop and an enhanced shopping experience.

"Retail is getting smaller but it is getting better," said Price. "Every square foot of the store will be changed. As a result, we are selling our entire current inventory in Wheaton during our Renovation Sale, starting Friday, August 30th. While our core vendors will remain, we want to sell what's here and start fresh."

A new Rug Studio is one of the changes occurring within the location.

The Rug Studio recently grand opened in Toms Price Lincolnshire and Skokie stores. Joining the Rug Studio at the heart of the store will be the relocated Design Center complete with fabrics, finishes, trims and cushion samplings. The Stickley Furniture Gallery will also be moved and refreshed on the second floor of the newly configured showroom.

Also, new painting and finishes are expected to be completed during October.

Toms Price in Wheaton will also be home to the flagship T. Price Interiors brand.

T. Price Interiors will offer inspirational design and will be introduced into all stores beginning with Wheaton this fall.

T. Price Interiors will feature a contiguous grouping of vignettes appealing to shoppers who seek a completely custom look and want to leverage the benefits of working with an interior designer.
