Paint DuPage: A Community Invitational Art Exhibit at DuPage Art League

DuPage County has so much to offer and can be reflected by stories told in visual arts.

The DuPage Art League, 218 W. Front St. in downtown Wheaton, invites the local Chicago area art community to participate in the October exhibit, "Paint DuPage."

Art related to DuPage County such as paintings, photography, drawings, fiber art, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, etc. will be accepted.

Members of the DuPage Art League can submit two works of art free of charge, and nonmembers pay $10 per piece to enter.

Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded: one Best of Show ($50); one Theme Award ($25); three Special Merit Awards ($20 each); and 12 Merit Awards.

The entry dates are Sept. 22-23 with pickup dates Oct. 20-21 both between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Each artist can exhibit two pieces of work. The first work may not exceed 100 inches, one length plus one width, inside frame dimensions (for example, 40x60=100 would qualify. 45x60= 105 would not).

When art sells, 100% will be paid to the artist and then the artist makes a donation equal to 25% to the DuPage Art League.

The second piece must be priced at $200 or less and not exceed 25 inches inside frame dimensions (11x14).

The DuPage Art League is a nonprofit art school and gallery. The art league has a full schedule of children and adult art classes that starts Sept. 13. They also have workshops and free Zoom demonstrations that are offered. More information is available at www.dupageartleague.org.

The aim of the DuPage Art League is to promote and encourage the visual arts through classes, workshops, gallery exhibits, free public fine arts programs, exhibits by our artists in numerous commercial and public buildings, and financial endowments to public institutions of arts education and scholarships to students. All donations and gifts to the League are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible.
