Dental Hygiene Program Receives Reaccreditation

The Dental Hygiene program at College of DuPage has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements” by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.

The status, as defined by CODA, indicates that an educational program “achieves or exceeds basic requirements for accreditation.” CODA will schedule the next site visit for the year 2018.

Patti Belmonte, program coordinator, said this particular designation is a reflection on the strength of the Dental Hygiene program.

“All of the COD Dental Hygiene full- and part-time faculty are very proud of our students' accomplishments over the past 10 years and know our combined efforts are the reason we had such a successful reaccreditation site visit,” Belmonte said.

The Dental Hygiene program offers an Associate in Applied Science degree and prepares its graduates to provide comprehensive oral health care services in a variety of settings. For more information, call (630) 942-4237, email belmonte@cod.edu or visit www.cod.edu/programs/dental.
