Chicago Scots to host the 21st annual Kilted Classic golf tournament Sept. 29

Chicago Scots, the oldest nonprofit organization in Illinois, is celebrating its 176th anniversary this year. It will be hosting its 21st annual Kilted Classic golf tournament on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Cantigny Golf Course, 27W270 Mack Road in Wheaton.

Players can enter the tournament as a foursome, pair, or single, and can be matched with a group after registering online.

Kilted Classic players will enjoy performances from Highland Dancers, get a taste of Scotland's finest with whiskey, beer, and food stations, test their knowledge with Scottish trivia, participate in competitions like Beat the Scot and longest drive, plus get the chance to win a bottle of whiskey on every hole. Kilts are not required, but to join in on the fun participants can rent one before online ($40), or day of.

"We're thrilled to be able to host our annual golf tournament for the 21st year," said Gus Noble, president of the Chicago Scots. "It's something we look forward to all year and is tons of fun, all while supporting a cause we deeply care about. I have a feeling this is going to be the best tournament to date."

Following all the fun on the links, golfers and nongolfers are invited to stay for a causal dinner, cocktails and an auction to benefit Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care, Chicago Scots' primary beneficiary for over 100 years that offers a range of services including assisted living, sheltered care, memory care, intermediate and skilled nursing care, and respite care.
