Sign up for College of DuPage's new Mindfulness Course

This spring, College of DuPage is offering a four-week virtual mindfulness course for students as a way to learn various techniques to reduce stress and anxiety during these trying times.

The course meets over Zoom for four sessions from 3 to 4:15 p.m. starting Jan. 5 through Jan. 26.

Koru Mindfulness is the only evidence-based mindfulness curriculum designed for college-aged adults, said COD Adjunct Faculty Support Kate Szetela.

"Because meditation can take time to yield bigger results, we were looking for other ways to teach mindfulness skills that students could incorporate into their lives right away," Szetela said. "The Koru Mindfulness curriculum does just that and introduces students to a variety of breathing techniques, guided imagery and body scans. The goal is for students to feel calmer, feel more rested and have greater self-compassion."

The course fee is $3.99, which includes the purchase of the course materials through the online Koru app.

To register, email Szetela at szetelak@cod.edu.
