Learn to recognize opioid overdose & how to administer naloxone

From Aug 27-31, 2018 advocates from across Illinois will band together to train 2,155 people in overdose prevention and reversal strategies, and equip people who need naloxone with a free kit.

Why 2,155?

The Illinois Department of Public Health projects that 2,155 Illinois residents will die from an accidental overdose in 2018. Glueckert Funeral Home will be hosting training classes on how to recognize an overdose and administer Naloxone, the opioid reversal medication.

When: Monday, August 27- Thursday, August 30 at 11:00 am & 6:00 pm & Friday August 31 at 9:00 am, 11:00am, 3:30pm & 6:00pm

Where: Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights

No appointment needed & no cost to you. All ages are encouraged to attend.

Live 4 Lali is hosting A candlelight vigil on Aug 31st at Lake Arlington 5:30pm-7:30 pm to remember those that have lost someone to overdose, raise awareness about the addiction and overdose crisis, and light a candle for those that have lost someone to an opioid overdose. If you are unable to attend and would like to have a candle lighted in memory of someone, please call 847-253-0168. First names only will be read at vigil.
