Chicago Philharmonic Chamber Players return May 22 to Union Church of Hinsdale
The award-winning Chicago Philharmonic Chamber Players will return to Union Church of Hinsdale to present a concert titled "Songs from the Heart" at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 22.
Guests can enjoy an exceptional classical music performance in Union Church's inspiring sanctuary. The Chicago Philharmonic is made up primarily of Lyric Opera Orchestra members and other top-tier professional musicians from the Chicago area.
Performers include Craig Terry, piano; Hugh Russell, baritone, Florentina Ramniceanu, violin; and Judy Stone, cello. The group will present a selection of works by Haydn, Mahler, Piazzolla, and Novello.
Internationally acclaimed pianist Craig Terry has performed with some of the world's leading singers and instrumentalists. Currently in his fifth season as assistant conductor at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, he previously served as assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera after joining its Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. And young Canadian baritone Hugh Russell has been consistently hailed for his beautiful voice, dramatic gifts and interpretive originality. Violinist Florentina Ramniceanu has performed with the Chicago Philharmonic since its inception and is a founding member of the Orion Ensemble. Cellist Judy Stone has also been a member of the Chicago Philharmonic for many years often serving as Principal cellist. A member of the Orion Ensemble since 1995, Stone performs regularly with Music of the Baroque where she has also been a featured soloist.
