COD concert choir, chamber singers perform April 28

The College of DuPage Chamber Choir and Chamber Singers will perform their season concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, on the Mainstage of the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

Both groups perform under the direction of Lee Kesselman, COD choral director since 1981. Tickets are $4.

The 60-member choir will sing Chris Garafalo's “Alleluia,” Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah,” “All Works of Love” by Joan Szymko, featuring words by Mother Theresa, “The Song I Sing” by Flaherty and Ahrens” and “Medley” from the hit Broadway musical “Next to Normal.”

The 30-member Chamber Singers will perform music by COD alum Amy Beth Kirsten, sacred music by Heinrich Schütz, Elliot Levine and Lee Kesselman, and songs by Z. Randall Stroope and Frank Ticheli. The concert also includes “Jai Ho” from “Slumdog Millionaire.”
