St. Francis High School Announces National Merit Semifinalist and Commended Students

The St. Francis High School (Wheaton) community is proud to announce that senior Henry Breyne (Bartlett) is a Semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Breyne is among approximately 15,000 other Semifinalists who represent less than one percent of the 1.6 million juniors from more than 22,000 high schools who entered the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the fall 2016 PSAT exam as juniors. The number of Semifinalists in each state is proportional to each state's percentage of the national total of graduating seniors.

Breyne will continue in the scholarship competition and National Merit Finalists will be announced in March 2018.

Additionally, seven students from the Class of 2018 were named as Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program: Megan Abbott (Bartlett), Timothy J. Caron (Glen Ellyn), Eleanore Jensen (Wheaton), John King (Wheaton), Ellen Kolker (Naperville), Axel Moreen (Wheaton), and Maria Sajan (Wheaton).

Although Commended Students will not continue in the scholarship competition, they placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 PSAT test.
