CLC-U of Illinois Engineering Pathways program offers information sessions

Future engineers are invited to learn about a new College of Lake County Engineering Pathways program that offers guaranteed admission to the College of Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign after successfully completing CLC's two-year engineering degree program.

Students are invited to learn more about how they could qualify for this pathway to one of the most prestigious engineering colleges in the U.S. by starting at CLC. Two information sessions will be offered: Dec. 4, 2014 and Feb. 5, 2015 at 7 p.m. in Room C005 (C Wing Auditorium). The information sessions will also explain scholarship opportunities such as the National Science Foundation Scholars program for low-income, academically talented students.

The Engineering Pathways Program is a competitive admission program for spring 2015 high school graduates who want to pursue an engineering degree. After admission to the Pathways Program, students who successfully complete the CLC requirements are guaranteed admission to the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Participants benefit from proactive advising by both UI and CLC advisors, orientation courses, transfer assistance, small CLC class sizes and CLC's low tuition cost.

The deadline to apply for the program is Feb. 27, 2015. Notification of acceptance will be given by April 1. For more information, contact Rob Twardock, engineering department chair, at (847) 543-2903 or rtwardock
