NW Fest Orchestra concert blew writer away

Your recent story on the Northwest Festival Orchestra prompted me to attend their Nov. 24 concert at Harper College. After all, it was conveniently here in the Northwest suburbs, parking was free, and the ticket price was a fraction of what a downtown Chicago performance would cost.

I was completely blown away by this group of young professional musicians and their guest vocalists! This particular program was a combo of instrumentals and vocals from operas. Opera is not my fave musical art form, so I was surprised to thoroughly enjoy the afternoon. All the music was excellent, but the “Aida” and “Die Meistersinger” were over the top!

You better believe I will attend all of their future concerts, and I will do my best to spread the word about this fine organization of young adults and their talented conductor.

Our friends and neighbors should know more about this fine group of musicians, and Mr. Kane’s article was a big help.
