Harper wins career preparedness award

The Illinois State Board of Education recently recognized Harper College in Palatine through the ACT’s College and Career Readiness Campaign.

Harper won the Career Preparedness Award for partnering with elementary schools under the No Excuses University Program, hosting field trips to help cultivate an early interest in college and holding Community Nights on campus to develop relationships with educational, business and public sector partners.

A student and high school also were recipients, along with Fabric Images Inc. in Elgin for developing connections between education and business/industry and how core skills are being applied in the workforce.
