Benet doubles up on win

Benet 4, St. Charles East 2:

Back-to-back RBI doubles by Pat McInerney and Chris Whelan broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the seventh inning for victorious Benet (21-8). Reliever Robert Haemmerle picked up the win on the mound.

Naperville Central 8, York 0:

Four pitchers, including starter Jimmy Nashert, combined on a 5-hitter with 6 strikeouts and no walks for the Redhawks (23-7). Bobby McMillen homered and drove in 2 runs. Pete Doughty went 2-for-3 for York (15-18).

Wheaton North 7, Bartlett 6:

Trailing 6-5, the Falcons (24-7) scored twice in the top of the sixth inning to pull out the victory. A bases-loaded walk to Lake Bachar brought home the go-ahead run. Charles Robin won in relief of Sam Nafziger. Tom Colletti homered and had 3 RBI.

Willowbrook 3, Lincoln-Way Central 2:

Rob Huette doubled and drove in 2 runs for the Warriors (21-10) in their nonconference victory. Matt Gasiamis pitched 3 innings of relief to earn the win.

Lake Park 10, Prospect 2:

Anthony Gallina and Eric Vatch went 3-for-5 as the Lancers (25-9) scored in five of seven innings. Brandon Popp was the winning pitcher in relief.

Waubonsie Valley 4, Oswego East 3:

Jack Eddy scattered 5 hits in a complete-game effort for the Warriors (17-14). Tyler Hasper went 3-for-3 with a double while Luke Marzano drove in 2 runs.

Neuqua Valley 8, Maine West 0:

Cody Coll, David Gerber, Andy Sommers and Mike Golinski combined on a 1-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Wildcats (24-9). Jeff Evak went 4-for-5 with 2 runs scored while Josh Piotrowski had 3 RBI and Dylan Goss drove in 2 runs.

Glenbard North 13, Downers North 3:

Winning pitcher Matt Frawley doubled and drove in 3 runs for the Panthers (18-11), who scored 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game. Adam Villanueva homered and had 4 RBI. Troy Southard went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI for Downers North (19-11).

Rolling Meadows 1, Addison Trail 0:

A first-inning solo home run was all that separated the two teams in nonconference play. Addison Trail (10-24) pitcher Zack Dowz struck out 15 and allowed only 2 hits.

Downers South 3, Sandburg 1:

Winning pitcher Brian Glowicki pitched a 3-hitter with 9 strikeouts, no walks and no earned runs for the Mustangs (28-6) in their nonconference victory. Kevin Raher went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI.
