Another command performance by Elk Grove’s Camacho

Elk Grove senior pitcher David Camacho completed an unbeaten run through his Mid-Suburban League opponents, tossing a complete-game 4-hitter with 8 strikeouts as the Grenadiers wrapped up regular-season league play with a 2-0 victory over visiting Conant on Monday.

Camacho improved to 7-1 overall and finished 6-0 against MSL foes. He allowed 2 walks.

Luc DiMaso did most of the damage offensively for Elk Grove (21-8, 12-4). He had 2 hits — a solo homer and a double — and scored both runs. Michael Anciulis also had 2 hits, including a double.

Kraemer Brandt and Mike Matej both had 2 hits for Conant.

St. Viator 13, Notre Dame 12: Andrew Ferrante led the way as the host Lions survived an East Suburban Catholic Conference slugfest.

Ferrante went 4-for-4 with 5 RBI and 2 doubles, the last of which ended the game in walk-off fashion.

Other hitting standouts for St. Viator (16-12, 10-5) included Matt Prazuch (3-for-4, 4 runs), Ben Dickey (3-for-4, 3 RBI) and Charlie Meyer (2-for-3, 2 RBI, 2 runs).

Barrington 10, Buffalo Grove 0 (5): The visiting Broncos got a 6-inning 1-hitter from Scott Nelson (8-1), who was also a force at the plate with his 3-for-3, 3-RBI effort.

Jake Petersen and Dylan Balogh doubled for the MSL West champion Broncos, who improved to 20-10 overall and 13-2 in the Mid-Suburban League.

Wheeling 3, Schaumburg 2: The host Wildcats scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to come from behind for an MSL triumph.

Brandon Latzke earned the win for Wheeling (10-14, 6-10) and Angelo Deblasio got a save as Nick Ricciardi and Sal Dominguez both had a pair of hits.

Ricciardi also walked twice, including in the sixth to force across the winning run. The inning started with singles from Ian Gilliam, Dominguez and Brenden Spillane. Beblasio contributed an RBI sacrifice fly, and Latzke had an RBI groundout.

Joe Franz had a pair of hits for the Saxons.

Prospect 6, Hoffman Estates 4: Zach Smith threw 128 pitches and got the win for Prospect, while A.J. Compton threw 1 pitch in relief and earned a save.

Patrick Hipple, Zach Tucszak and Kevin Kern doubled for the host Knights (5-16-3), who tied the game up with a run in the bottom of the fifth and went ahead for good with 2 runs in the sixth.

Riley Mugerditchian doubled for Hoffman Estates (9-17), which was out-hit 10-5.

Fremd 6, Hersey 0: Jon Escobar struck out seven and allowed 4 hits over 6 innings, and Alec Dompke pitched a scoreless seventh as the visiting Vikings picked up an MSL victory.

Sam Beutler homered and scored twice, and Matt Isola doubled and had 2 hits for Fremd (17-9, 10-5).

Joe Silva had 2 hits from the leadoff spot and Brendan Starr went 3-for-3 for Hersey (10-18, 7-8).
