Harper, Governors State ink dual degree deal

Harper College in Palatine signed an agreement Friday with Governors State University for a four-year dual degree program that guarantees admission to the university for Harper students who enroll in the program and complete their associate degree. Harper credits will transfer, and Governors State’s tuition rate will be locked in for students when they start at Harper. Participants can compete for scholarships offered by Governors State to community college transfer students. Participants also will have access to Governors State advisors and transfer specialists from the time they start at Harper, and can utilize counselors at both schools. The agreement is similar to other deals forged between Harper and Roosevelt University, DePaul Universities and the University of Illinois at Urbana. Harper has transfer agreements with more than 100 colleges and universities nationwide.
