Harper College to offer Haley Reinhart's sandwich
Haley Reinhart, who you probably know from “American Idol” stardom, had some help getting through college in the form of a culinary creation.
One of the keys to her success, she recently told SELF magazine, was making a “killer sandwich” while she attended Harper College in Palatine.
The Wheeling High School graduate's recipe is a long one. Her favorite sandwich, which she named “The Harper,” calls for toasted, whole-wheat bread, turkey, roast beef, salami, Muenster cheese, mayo, mustard, black olives, butter chip pickles and finally, tomatoes.
The folks at Harper came across the mention in SELF and decided to feature the sandwich at the college's cafeteria.
“We haven't named it yet, but we're open to suggestions,” spokesman Phil Burdick said. “We wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to feature Haley's Harper sandwich.”
Though he hasn't tried the concoction for himself just yet, Burdick predicts it will be a tasty hit with students given Reinhart's growing popularity.
Her career of late has been taking off, with recent appearances on several TV shows and a performance this week on Conan O'Brien's TBS late show.
