Learn about 'Military Horse Power' with First Division Museum Oct. 15

First Division Museum in Wheaton will host its next "Dessert With History" virtual presentation on "Military Horse Power" at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.

Since the beginning of time, horses have been used to support soldiers all over the world. These animals have been the power and movement behind countless armies.

Believe it or not, even with the invention of motorized vehicles in the military, horses were still being used.

Listening to the museum's Historic Vehicle Coordinator Audra Kantor and Chris Huntoon, owner/operator of Huntoon Stables in Aurora, guests will be delighted to see a horse up-close while hearing about their daily lives and contributions over the last century.

Dessert will be a sweet treat trail mix. The ingredients below are suggestions, but feel free to substitute your favorites or find a premade trail mix at your favorite local shop.

For those who want to make the at-home treat please have available: mini-cookies (Famous Amos mini chocolate chip cookies, mini Oreos, etc.), your favorite granola, nuts or pretzels, and candy chips of your choice (chocolate, peanut butter, cinnamon) or dried fruit, granola, nuts or pretzels, and dark chocolate chips.
