Homeland Security Training Center Grand Opening

College of DuPage Acting Interim President Joe Collins welcomes Illinois State Senator Jeanne Ives to the opening of the College's Homeland Security Training Center. Approximately 100 attendees visited during the event, including Hanover Park Village President Rod Craig, Glen Ellyn Village Manager Mark Franz, COD Board of Trustees Chairman Kathy Hamilton and Trustees Frank Napolitano and Joe Wozniak. In addition, representatives from more than a dozen local police departments attended, including those from Addison, Downers Grove, Elk Grove Village and Naperville. The new training center partners COD's Suburban Law Enforcement Academy with area agencies, providing immersive learning experiences through a variety of state-of-the-art training areas, including a full-scale 50-yard, 24-position interior firing range, a 911 call center classroom, multi-use classrooms and a cutting-edge VirTra V-300 firearms simulator.
