Learn About the Craft Beer Industry at COD this Fall

With the local craft beer industry booming, breweries in the Chicago area continue to expand, gaining a stronger foothold in the craft beer scene. College of DuPage Continuing Education now offers a Business of Craft Beer certificate, focusing on the business of the industry and featuring hands-on courses conducted at local breweries and the College's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

Fall classes begin Monday, Sept. 28, and include: Foundations of the Craft Beer Industry (prerequisite course); The Real Business of Craft Beer; Marketing Craft Beer; and Front-of-House Beer Management. Samplings will be included with the courses.

Students must be 21 years of age to attend.

Future course offerings, expected to launch in spring 2016, include: Craft Beer Capstone; Slinging Suds and Draft Expertise; Advanced Beer Knowledge; Marketing: Strategy for Digital Presence and Social Media; Craft Beer Entrepreneurship; and The Business of Beer Production.
