COD Hosts Education Program Open House April 26

College of DuPage will host an open house providing information on the College's Education program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, in the Student Resource Center, Room 2000, on the College's main campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., in Glen Ellyn. Click here for directions to College of DuPage.

This event is free and open to the public.

During the Education program open house, attendees will learn about education program coursework at COD, technology used in K-12 classrooms and the process of transferring from COD to a four-year baccalaureate-granting institution. Attendees will also learn about COD and Lewis University's innovative Enhanced 2+2 in Education programs which provide a streamlined approach to earning a bachelor's degree in education at a substantially reduced tuition rate. In addition, the open house will feature a discussion panel of students and teachers from area colleges and universities at 1 p.m.

The Education program at College of DuPage offers a combination of classroom instruction and supervised, hands-on experience that prepares students for transfer to baccalaureate-granting institutions or direct entry into the field of early childhood education and care in a variety of positions, including child care director, assistant director, preschool teacher, child care teacher, elementary or special education aide, and before or after school teacher. Specialized courses are also available for early childhood professionals, teachers, caregivers, parents and prospective parents who want to enhance their knowledge and expertise about early childhood and curriculum development.
