Serve City holding boys volleyball club tryouts in West Chicago, Downers Grove

Serve City Athletics is running boys volleyball club teams in West Chicago and Downers Grove for the 2016-17 season. Tryouts for the teams are September 6 in Downers Grove and September 6 and 7 in West Chicago.

Tryouts for Serve City's 13- and 14-and-under teams in Downers Grove will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6 at 2531 Hobson Road (Hobson Road Community Church); the make-up date is Saturday, September 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Hobson Road. Tryouts in Downers Grove are specifically for Downers Grove's boys club teams.

Tryouts for Serve City's 14-and-under teams will be conducted from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6 at 28W240 North Avenue (Community Fellowship Church); the make-up date is Saturday, September 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Community Fellowship. Tryouts for the 16- and 18-and-under squads will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7 at Community Fellowship Church; the make-up tryout date is Saturday, September 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community Fellowship. Tryouts in West Chicago are specifically for West Chicago's boys club teams.

The cost to try out is $5 and must be paid online while registering for tryouts at http://www.servecityvolleyball.org/tryouts-1.

Serve City's coaches will run each tryout participant through a range of skills testing to determine the best team fit for each athlete.

Serve City's high school boys volleyball club season runs from the week of September 19 to Saturday, February 18. The high school teams practice twice a week out of Community Fellowship Church in West Chicago and will play eight to 10 tournaments, including a three-day national qualifier in Chicago.

The middle school boys program runs from the week of September 19 to Saturday, January 21. The middle school teams in Downers Grove practice out of Hobson Road Community Church. The middle school teams based in West Chicago practice twice a week out of Community Fellowship Church. Each team competes in seven to eight tournaments, including a three-day national qualifier in Chicago.
