• The Lombard Historical Society is holding a volunteer drive during March in hopes of increasing its volunteer corps by 50 percent. Several opportunities are available for anyone 16 or older who can spare two or more hours per month, including tour guides, helping with educational programs, living history docents, working in the gardens and more. All volunteers receive a discount at the Emporium Gift Shop, special recognition from the board and behind-the-scenes tours. The Victorian Museum, 23 W. Maple St., is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays and the Sheldon Peck Homestead, 355 E. Parkside Ave., is open 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays. • The Lombard Chamber of Commerce and the village of Lombard are seeking not-for-profit organizations to benefit from Lilac Time Art and Craft fair proceeds. The fair will be May 4 in downtown Lombard and funds from booth sales will be donated to one or more local charitable organizations. To be considered for this donation, call the chamber office to request an application at (630) 627-5040. All applications will be reviewed by the Lilac Time Art and Craft Committee and recipients will be contacted before the fair.

Wednesday through Saturday

• Aurora University's theater department will present the Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Anna in the Tropics" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday in the Perry Theatre in the Aurora Foundation Center for Community Enrichment, 1305 Kenilworth Place. Admission is free with a donation for a local charity, including nonperishable food items for the Holy Angels Church food pantry; books for children ages 8 to 12 for the Humanitarian Service Project's birthday program or cash for Season of Concern, the Chicago theater community's fundraising effort to fight AIDS. • The Community High School District 94 girls softball team's second annual Parents' Night Out fundraiser will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Wheaton Bowl, 2031 N. Gary Ave., Wheaton. Tickets cost $25, which includes three games of bowling, a raffle and a pizza and dessert buffet. Proceeds will benefit the school's softball program.
