Cardboard, Water Meet in Second Annual COD Engineering Club Boat Race

Student Josh Mikolite paddles his way across the Physical Education Center pool in a boat made of cardboard and duct tape, testing his team's design skills at the College of DuPage Engineering Club's second annual boat race.

Mikolite and his fellow club members, under the guidance of club advisor and Engineering Instructor Scott Banjavcic, put their knowledge of buoyancy and dynamics to the test, constructing boats using only cardboard and duct tape. Students participated in several heats to determine the overall winning team of Devon Weaver (Naperville) and Edie Kocher-Cowan (Lisle).
