COD Latino Outreach Center Manager Named Among 2015 'Mujeres Exitosas'
College of DuPage Latino Outreach Coordinator manager Saraliz Jimenez recently was named among the 2015 Mujeres Exitosas (Successful Women) by Illinois Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti.
Jimenez and her fellow honorees were recognized late last month at the Lt. Governor's Office's Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, receiving awards from Sanguinetti and Gov. Bruce Rauner for their commitment and leadership within the Hispanic community.
Born in Barinas, Venezuela, Jimenez immigrated to the U.S. at age 7 with her mother (NAME). She was raised in River Forest and attended Morton College, where she earned her Dental Assisting certificate and Associate in Arts degree. She earned her Bachelor of International Business degree from Dominican University, an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Business and a Master's of Science in Counseling from National Louis University. At College of DuPage for 14 years, Jimenez currently manages the Latino Outreach Center and advises the College's Latino Ethnic Awareness Association. Her passion is working with students who may not have considered a higher education and opening their eyes to the many opportunities awaiting them.

Circuit Court of Cook County; Patricia Mota, President of HACE; Gloria Cardenas Cudia, President of Salsa Business Network; and Ligia Granados, Meteorologist and Reporter at Univision Chicago.
