COD Hosts Culinary, Hospitality & Tourism Program Open House June 16

High school students, their parents and teachers are invited to learn more about degrees and certificates available through the College of DuPage Culinary, Hospitality & Tourism program at an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 16.

The event takes place at the College's state-of-the-art Culinary & Hospitality Center on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd. The 60,000-square-foot facility opened in 2011 and includes two full-service restaurants, including the student-run Wheat Cafe with an adjacent Culinary Market that sells pastries and meals prepared by Culinary Arts students. Students receive hands-on training in the building's Skills Kitchen, Fine-Dining and Casual Dining Kitchens, and Chocolate Room.

Guests are invited to tour the building, meet faculty and learn more about the program's curriculum. Additionally, prospective students can observe a class and participate in class activities.

COD's programs are accredited by the Education Foundation of the American Culinary Federation, making COD one of the few schools in the nation to have accreditation for both food service administration and culinary arts.
