DuPage Community Foundation welcomes new chair, trustees

WHEATON, IL-- A new slate of officers and four new Trustees officially took office at the Annual Meeting of The DuPage Community Foundation, which was held on September 12, 2013, at Glen Oak Country Club in Glen Ellyn.

Trustee Stephen Burt was voted in as Chair of the Foundation Board, following the end of a two-year term by Daniel Maguire. Maguire will remain a Trustee on the Board.

Burt is a managing director in the Chicago office of Duff & Phelps, LLC. He is also the head of Duff & Phelps' Mergers and Acquisitions Group and is responsible for the international practice of mergers and acquisitions. He is a resident of Glen Ellyn.

Other officers elected include Trustees Joan Morrissey (Wheaton), vice chair; Denice Gierach (Aurora), secretary; and Ernest Mrozek (Hinsdale), treasurer.

During the meeting, the Foundation's Board also approved the addition of four new Trustees: Mary Kay Kluge; Bruce K. Lee, Christopher M. Janc and Nathaniel P. Wasson.

Mary Kay Kluge

Kluge is a senior vice president, wealth advisor and senior portfolio management director for Morgan Stanley. She received her master's degree from Northwestern University's Kellogg School in finance and marketing, and her undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Dayton. She is a Certified Financial Planner Practitioner and is a resident of Naperville.

"I have been following the good works of The DuPage Community Foundation for many years," said Kluge. "They and their agencies really do make a difference in DuPage County. I am honored to be able to participate in this worthwhile endeavor," she added.

Bruce K. Lee

Lee is a managing director of wealth management at Merrill Lynch and has provided wealth management strategies and services to clients since 1985. He has been named to Barron's "Top 100 Financial Advisors in America" every year since 2007. Lee focuses on the development and execution of asset allocation and risk management strategies. He also manages the implementation of multi-manager risk-adjusted portfolios, structured products, alternative investments and hedge fund strategies.

"Helping and building one's surrounding community is a civic duty we all have if we are to build a better future for our children," said Lee. "It's with great pride that I'm associated with such a great organization that holds those values."

In addition to his work with The DuPage Community Foundation, Lee serves on the Board of Trustees for the John G. Shedd Aquarium and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. He and his wife have two daughters and reside in Hinsdale.

Christopher M. Janc

Janc is an executive director with J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he has worked since November 2009. He has 18 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Janc served in the Marine Corps from 1989-1992 and is currently the global co-chair for the J.P. Morgan Chase VETS business resource group. He is also a board member at the DuPage Water Commission, a public water utility serving DuPage County. Janc earned his MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, has a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from Illinois State University, and is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor.

Janc enjoys playing hockey, skiing and cycling and resides in Naperville.

Nathaniel P. Wasson

Wasson is vice president and managing director for BMO Private Bank's Naperville & St. Charles offices. His focus is on affluent clients including corporate executives, medical and legal professionals, retirees, and entrepreneurs. Wasson joined BMO Financial Group in 2011 and has more than 14 years of experience in the financial services industry.

"I am so very pleased to be a partner in advancing The DuPage Community Foundation's vision of raising the quality of life throughout DuPage County," said Wasson. "What makes me most excited is that the organization is exceptionally passionate about helping improve the lives of our youngest residents and provides such expert guidance to donors about the greatest areas of philanthropic need."

Wasson makes his home in Hinsdale with his wife, son and daughter. He is a member of the Executives' Club of Chicago.
