College of DuPage, U.S. Bank Offer Finance Workshops
College of DuPage and U.S. Bank will present several free personal finance workshops this fall, designed to help students better understand the importance of having good money sense, building and maintaining credit and protecting personal information.
All workshops will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on the College's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
“Banking Basics” meets Monday, Sept. 23, in the Student Resource Center, Room 2000. Participants will learn how to manage their money, including how to open a checking account, the benefits of savings accounts and the payment vehicles available with each.
“Conquering Credit” meets Friday, Oct. 4, in the Health and Science Center, Room 1234. Participants will learn how to establish and maintain credit, the types of credit available and the difference between a credit score and a credit report.
“Identity Theft: Protecting Yourself and Your Identity” meets Monday, Nov. 11, in the Health and Science Center, Room 1234. Participants will learn how to avoid phishing attempts and how to seek help if their identities are compromised.
