Local Chiropractic group named on 2012 Inc. 5000 List

Inc. Magazine Unveils Its Annual Exclusive List of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies - the Inc. 5000

Inc. magazine recently ranked Oak Brook-based Chiropractic group, Chiro One Wellness Centers, No. 2287 on its sixth annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America's independent entrepreneurs. Unified Payments tops this year's list. Chiro One joins Intuit, Yelp, yogurt maker Chobani, and famed hatmaker Tilly's, among other prominent brands featured on this year's list. Chiro One achieved the No. 185 spot nationally in the Health industry sector and No. 87 in the Chicago region. Chiro One is being recognized for the second year in a row, ranking 1,035th overall on last year's list.

Dr. Stuart Bernsen, Chiro One's CEO said, "We are honored to once again be recognized by the Inc. 500/5000 list. 2011 was another record year for Chiro One, and we are on track for 2012 to be even stronger. Though our growth has continued, this year we are slowing down our rapid expansion and focusing on strengthening our business in anticipation of explosive growth to 1,000 clinics by the end of 2020. We realize that our growth illustrates the critical need for chiropractic care worldwide and the combined efforts of our extraordinary teams' passionate commitment to our Vision, ‘that every human being discovers their full potential.'”

“For years, chiropractic has been the best kept secret in healthcare in the United States,” states Brett Penager, Chiro One's Chief Marketing Officer. “It is fast becoming a secret no more. Armed with our Vision, we are making headway into educating our communities and allowing them to choose the extraordinary wellness benefits that chiropractic care provides. It is cost effective, proactive, and empowers the individual to take charge of their health. As we continue to feverishly work towards creating the tipping point of awareness about chiropractic nationwide, our expansion is a testament to the voice and vote of the consumer.”

In the past year, Chiro One has expanded in the Dallas area with six offices, and plans to open 50 offices in the Texas market next year. In all, there are currently 75 offices in three states.

“We are proud of what we've accomplished thus far, however, with our long term plan to have 1,000 offices in at least 25 different markets by 2020, there is a tremendous amount of opportunity in front of us and even more work ahead,” states Bernsen. “We are not just looking at growth in the US but also internationally in markets such as the Middle and Far East where chiropractic has not existed before now. Our Vision is truly inclusive of every human being worldwide.”

In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2012 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 97 percent. The companies on this year's list report created over 400,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $299 billion.

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/5000.

"Now, more than ever, we depend on Inc. 500/5000 companies to spur innovation, provide jobs, and drive the economy forward. Growth companies, not large corporations, are where the action is," says Inc. Editor Eric Schurenberg.

Methodology

The 2012 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2008. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2011. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2008 is $100,000; the minimum for 2011 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/500.
