Wheaton North remains undefeated with 7-0 win over Streamwood

Wheaton North improved to 7-0 with a 7-3 nonconference win Saturday over Streamwood. The Falcons got 2 runs-batted in from Sean Ford and 2 hits including a double from Trey Martin in support of pitcher Mike Coduto (2-0).

Benet 4, New Trier 1: A 3-run top of the sixth and a 1-hitter by John Boyle (2-1) did the trick for the Redhawks in the nonconference game in Winnetka. Boyle struck out eight without walking a batter or allowing an earned run. Nick Moore cracked an RBI double.

Naperville North 13, Marmion 5: Winning pitcher Kyle Klosek (1-1) benefitted from 17 hits and 11 stolen bases in 11 attempts in the nonconference game in Aurora. Naperville North (7-1) was led by Nick Laskowsky with 4 hits and 4 RBI, Devon Moon's 3 RBI and 4 stolen bases, and Charlie White's 3 hits, 2 RBI and 2 stolen bases.

Glenbard North 6, Sandburg 0: Sophomore Andrew Bergmann (1-0) threw a 3-hit shutout in his first varsity start. Steve Cocat doubled twice while Eddie Rose drove in 2 in the nonconference game at Glenbard North (5-2).

Stevenson 4, Naperville Central 1: Cory Lasky hit a triple and scored on Billy Dorn's suicide squeeze bunt to break a 1-1 tie in the top of the 10th inning of Stevenson's (8-1) win in Naperville. Ben Lucas singled in the sole run for Naperville Central (6-3).

Glenbard West 1-1, York 0-4: Pitcher Blake O'Brien earned a win when Glenbard West scored in the eighth inning of the West Suburban Silver doubleheader. York (5-4, 3-2) won Game Two behind a 3-hitter from Steve Adkins (3-0) and a pair of hits by Tom Judge.

Willowbrook 5-9, Addison Trail 4-5: Willowbrook (7-3, 4-0) swept the West Suburban Gold twinbill. Brett Buchanan doubled in the first game then went 3-for-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, plus a win on the mound in Game 2.

Hinsdale Central 11-1, Downers Grove North 9-0: After 25 combined hits in Game 1 of the West Suburban Silver doubleheader - including a double, home run and 4 RBI from Hinsdale Central's Josh Camalick - the Red Devils (4-4, 3-1) won Game 2 when Camalick scored on a wild pitch. A single by Downers North's Jack Lowry was the only hit.

Immaculate Conception 9-16, Westmont 5-11: Visiting IC (7-5, 1-1) rapped 33 hits in the nonconference doubleheader. Carlos Rodriguez and Matt Purdom each hit home runs, Rodriguez adding a triple. Jose Godinez (2-0) won the first game, and Matt McMahon went 4-for-5 with 2 RBI in the second.

Leyden 5-2, Hinsdale South 3-6: After dropping the first game of the West Suburban Gold doubleheader, Hinsdale South (1-5, 1-3) earned its first win of the season. Connor Schomig hit a home run and Chris Massimillian, Matt Perez and Jay McGowan each hit doubles in support of pitcher Dan Capocci (1-0).

Romeoville 7, Montini 1: Montini (6-1) and pitcher Ben Smego (1-1) took their first loss of the year. Colin Meister drove in Kevin Glennon for the Broncos' only run against Romeoville (7-1).
