College of Lake County opens registration for summer and fall classes

Registration is now open for Summer Session, which offers two start dates: May 16 and June 5; and for Fall Semester, which begins Aug. 21. Students who attend other colleges and universities and are back in Lake County this summer can register for specific summer courses and defer the prerequisites at the time of registration. CLC is offering several new options designed to help transfer students meet science lab requirements at CLC this summer.
In just three weeks, students can complete and intro to biology or chemistry lab-only course during Intersession (May 16 to June 3) and then take the next level during the eight-week summer session. CLC created these new lab-only courses for reverse transfer students who have already taken a lecture-based course and need to quickly complete the lab requirement.
The cost of taking 9 credit hours at CLC this summer is $1,215, compared to $4,206 at an Illinois public university (based on average per credit hour tuition and fees in 2016-17).
CLC's Guaranteed Transfer Admission Partnership allows CLC students to be admitted to one of 22 local, regional or international partner institutions by meeting program requirements. This ensures a seamless transfer of credit to the four-year colleges and universities. For information, visit www.clcillinois.edu/gta.
The new Promise Program is still accepting applicants from high school seniors who will enter CLC in the fall. The program covers the gap between federal and state financial aid and tuition and fees for qualifying students. It requires students to develop a two-year academic plan, create a career or transfer plan and participate in leadership and professional development activities. CLC also offers an array of noncredit personal enrichment courses, on topics such as fitness, music, computers, dance, history, creative arts and more, for students of all ages, from children through retirees.
