WACO Accepting Scholarship Applications

The Woodfield Area Children's Organization is accepting applications for its three annual $1000 scholarships. The application process runs through the month of March.

The scholarships are open to all high school seniors who have volunteered at WACO's Christmas Shopping Tours, helped with the charity's food, book or coat drives, or have in any way volunteered for the Woodfield Area Children's Organization's programs or fundraisers

Qualifying students must also be planning to attend a four-year college or university in the fall of 2017. Applications are available in school guidance counseling and career offices, or online at http://www.waco4kids.org/.

WACO will present the scholarships to the winning students and their parents on Tuesday, May 9.

The Woodfield Area Children's Organization is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Since 1979 WACO has been dedicated to creating positive childhood memories, providing basic needs, along with educational support for children living at or below poverty level in Chicago's northwest and western suburbs. A full 97 cents of every dollar WACO raises goes to help the kids.
