Waterleaf to Host Dutton-Goldfield Wine Dinner April 24

Waterleaf restaurant in Glen Ellyn will host a special wine dinner on Thursday, April 24, featuring the celebrated wines of the Dutton-Goldfield winery located in the Russian River Valley in northern California.

The evening will begin with a champagne reception and amuse bouche at 6:30 p.m. Special guest Dutton-Goldfield Winery National Sales Director John Schulz will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about the winery and fine wines. Dinner will begin at 7 p.m. The price of this exclusive four-course dinner is $75 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Waterleaf Executive Chef Nadia Tilkian has prepared a delicious seasonal menu with carefully selected wine pairings for this event. The dinner will begin with Poached Shrimp-avocado, cashew and basil-citrus Salad paired with 2012 Dutton-Goldfield Chardonnay from Dutton Ranch in Green Valley. The second course features Pear-Ginger Soup with mint oil paired with 2011 Dutton-Goldfield Chardonnay, Rued Vineyard, Green Valley. The third course offers Roasted Duck Breast, almond-sweet potato casserole and tart cherry compote accompanied by 2012 Dutton-Goldfield Pinot Noir, Dutton Ranch. The fourth course is a selection of Artisanal Cheeses and grape compote paired with 2011 Dutton-Goldfield Pinot Noir, Freestone Hill Vineyard, Russian River. Completing the meal is Blackberry Crostada with vanilla-honey float.

Established by a handshake in a vineyard in 1998 by longtime colleagues and friends Steve Dutton and Dan Goldfield, Dutton-Goldfield Winery has since grown to more than 1,000 acres in more than 80 separate vineyards located throughout western Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, California. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the mainstays of Dutton-Goldfield production, along with small lots of Syrah, Zinfandel, Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer.
