College of DuPage to host Health Science Open House in Westmont Nov. 2

College of DuPage will host a free Health Sciences Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the COD Westmont Regional Center, 650 Pasquinelli Drive.

This open house is aimed at individuals interested in pursuing a career in health sciences. Staff members will be on hand to answer questions about the College's wide range of health sciences programs. In addition, participants will learn about admissions, financial aid and COD's new opportunity for students to complete health science core education courses at the Westmont Center beginning in spring 2014.

College of DuPage offers a wide range of programs that provide hands-on training and academic skills that prepare students for numerous health careers. In addition to the development of clinical and patient care skills, training is also available for students interested in lab work, research and medical office administration.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that due to an aging population of baby boomers and an increasing need for qualified health care professionals, medical employers are expected to increase support staff across a variety of disciplines by 2020, with projected employment growth in certain areas reaching as much as 70 percent as in the case of personal care aides.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information and to RSVP, please call (630) 942-4800 or email Debby Piha at pihadeb@cod.edu.
