South Elgin 6, Waubonsie Valley 5: The Storm scored 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win this Upstate Eight Valley game. Mallory Mecklenburg was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, Victoria Watt was 2-for-4, Alyssa Buddle had a solo home run and Cassidy Westlund, Paige Allen and Taylor Rees each drove in runs. Allen was the winning pitcher in relief for South Elgin (13-6, 8-1), which has won 4 of its last 5.

Bartlett 3, Neuqua Valley 2: Kayla Haberstich had a 2-run homer and winning pitcher Holly Pagan was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the Hawks to a UEC Valley win. Alex Morales added a triple for Bartlett (16-6, 7-2), which has won 8 of its last 9 games. Pagan allowed 5 hits with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Hampshire 5, Grayslake Central 4: The Whip-Purs scored 3 in the bottom of the seventh to win their first Fox Valley Conference Fox Division game of the season. Ashley VanAcker’s grounder scored Brittany Sujet with the game-winning run, after Sujet had delivered a 2-run single to tie it. Jordan Hook was 2-for-3 with a home run for Hampshire (6-11, 1-3). Jen Hurst had 10 strikeouts, 4 walks and allowed just 4 hits in picking up the win for the Whips.

St. Charles North 1, Streamwood 0: Kaitlyn Hedger allowed just 4 hits for Streamwood but the Sabres (4-12, 1-7) got just a single from Holly Foret off SCN’s Sabrina Rabin in this UEC River loss.

St. Charles East 20, Larkin 1: Holly Zdroik and Alex Buhrow had hits for Larkin (1-17, 1-9) in the UEC River. Jaclyn Saurbaugh was the losing pitcher.

Rosary 6, St. Edward 4: Kristi Kroll was 2-for-4 with an RBI for St. Edward in the Suburban Christian. Angela Zenteno took the loss for the Green Wave (9-8, 4-3).
