text size: AAA
By North Suburban Youth Jazz

The North Suburban Youth Jazz band will be holding their first ever open auditions on Monday, January 28th, 2013 for all students currently enrolled in their school's band program. The band was developed this year to better serve the youth of Lake and McHenry counties in extracurricular music education. Director Matt Pickett is currently a middle school band director who realizes the importance of making music education a fun experience to foster a life long love of music. Students will be exposed to performance opportunities, community enrichment events, as well as enrich students' participation in their own middle school music programs. NSYJ will give students the opportunity to meet and perform with like-minded student musicians from surrounding area schools.

Auditions will take place at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center located at 2007 N. Civic Center Way, Round Lake Beach, IL 60073. All participants must register for an audition no later than Friday, January 25th, 2013. To register, visit our website at www.nsyouthjazz.com, call us at 224-280-9175, or email us at nsyouthjazz@gmail.com.
