Diveheart asks for holiday ornaments to decorate holiday tree at Cantigny

Diveheart, a Downers Grove-based nonprofit that offers scuba therapy to children, adults or veterans with a disability, is asking the public to donate ocean and military-themed ornaments to decorate its holiday tree at Cantigny Park in Wheaton.

Diveheart is one of seven charities chosen to decorate and display a holiday tree in one of the rooms in the park's McCormick House.

The public will view and judge the trees from Nov. 23 through Dec. 30. They will vote for the best display and the winning charity will receive $2,500.

"Diveheart is honored to be chosen as one of this year's charities participating in this holiday tree display," said Jim Elliott, Diveheart's founder and president. "This is a special joy and honor for me personally because of my long career as an advertising executive with the Chicago Tribune, WGN Radio and CLTV News as Robert McCormack was such an important part of the Tribune Company."

To donate ornaments, mail or drop off items to Diveheart, 900 Ogden Ave., Suite 274, Downers Grove, IL 60515. Elliott asks that people send one ornament.
