Maine West High School Class of 1969 Slates Milestone 50th Reunion
The 1969 graduating class of Maine West will be celebrating its 50th reunion this coming September 27 and 28, 2019. All members of the class are cordially invited to join in this life milestone celebration. Quoting Robert Glitz, Reunion Committee chairman: "It's going to be a BLAST!"
The festivities start with a reunion social mixer on Friday evening, September 27th at the Countryside Saloon restaurant at 2501 East Ballard Road, in Des Plaines. Pizza, beer, wine, and soft drinks are included for $40 per person paid at the time of reservation. Dress is casual.
For our nostalgic, sports-minded classmates, the Maine West Warriors will be playing their Homecoming football game against the Deerfield Warriors that evening as well. See the Maine West 2019 varsity football schedule for exact times.
Two exciting events are planned for Saturday, September 28th.
To kick off the day, a guided walking tour of Maine West is planned. It's expected to last about an hour. Classmates are urged to take advantage of this unique opportunity to stroll down memory lane and experience first-hand the numerous changes and additions to our alma mater and its grounds since 1969. Where was your homeroom? There is no charge for this event. Walking shoes recommended.
The reunion celebration then comes to a peak with a dinner to be held at the Elks Lodge of Des Plaines, 495 Lee Street. Dress is country club casual. A multi-choice buffet with vegetarian option will be served along with a cash bar. For your listening and dancing enjoyment, a DJ will spin oldie but goodie favorites from the 1960s and 70s during and following dinner. The cost of this event is $70 per person, paid at the time of reservation.
