Criminal History Record Information Training Session April 30

“Criminal History Record Information Training Symposium for Non-Criminal Justice Users” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at College of DuPage.

The symposium is sponsored by the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification in conjunction with the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at COD and the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police. The training is aimed at non-criminal justice users of criminal history record information in regards to hiring and licensing child care providers, health care workers, local governmental and school employees, retail employees, and other important staff.

Topics include the role of the Bureau of Identification, inquiry and response methods, Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act, name-based vs. fingerprint-based inquiries, conviction vs. non-conviction records, restricted use of LEADS, new legislation, and fiscal procedures.

The fee is $25 and includes a continental breakfast. The symposium will take place in the Jack H. Turner Conference Center, located in the Student Resource Center, Room 2000, on campus in Glen Ellyn.
